Our Mission

The Maryland Clean Energy Center advances a clean energy future by making affordable, accessible technologies available to all Marylanders. Through innovative financing, climate tech innovation, and project development support, we empower communities, foster business growth, and create jobs.

Our Origins

The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) was created in 2008 by the State with a transformative vision—to spark a future powered by clean energy.

As a green bank, our directives are rooted in our enabling statute, which empowers us to promote clean energy industries, provide financing solutions, and drive meaningful change across the state. With this visionary foundation, we are committed to:

  • Fueling the expansion of clean energy businesses across the state.
  • Accelerating the adoption of cutting-edge clean energy technologies.
